Environment and Safety Instruction

  • Cautions

    Before using your VR system, always use our product in the environments that are safe and familiar to you!

     

    Place of use

    The device is specifically designed for indoor use. Observe your surroundings and choose a suitable play area before starting to use the device.

    Clear any obstacles before using the device. Ensure that the play area is spacious enough to prevent collision with other people, objects, furniture, ceiling fans, or other items. Please also make sure to avoid areas which may cause you to lose balance during playing such as stairs, open doorways, or windows. Failure to do so may cause property damage or serious injury.

    While with headset on, avoid facing blank walls, transparent glass and mirrors closely which may cause issues with the tracking system.

    Please make sure your environment is not too dark or not too bright for best experience.

    For safety reasons, we recommend sitting on a swivel chair or standing still to experience.

    When you are standing or sitting in the virtual world, it is not always related to whether you are actually standing or sitting in the real world. When you are seated in the virtual world, you will notice that your virtual legs appear and your view angle is adjusted accordingly.

    *Thoughtful tips

    1. Before using the device, make sure you are always in the center of the play area, i.e. you should reserve minimum space, 3 meter x 3 meter square, away from potential hazards (such as furniture or wall).

    2. See-through mode* will switch from virtual to real world view automatically when you venture beyond the Guardian area. *See-through mode: uses the front-facing optical sensors embedded on your headset to display real world surroundings within the headset.

     

Getting Started Guide

  • Unboxing Steps

    Let us walk you through the right steps to operate your XRSPACE MANOVA headset safely and maximize your experience. Please read this guide carefully before getting started and make sure you meet all the following requirements: 

    1. Take out XRSPACE MANOVA headset from the box.

    2. Before setting up your XRSPACE MANOVA headset, make sure you have taken out all items in the box.

     

    The box of your XRSPACE MANOVA contains the following items:

    • XRSPACE MANOVA headset

    • Controller

    • Carry case

    • Adaptor

    • USB cable

    • Lanyard

    • Two AA batteries (to use with the controller)

    *Note: When you try to connect your XRSPACE MANOVA headset to your controller, make sure the lanyard has been tied to your controller.

App Download and Devices Pairing

  • Create Account

    Connect your headset to the power outlet through USB cable. When the LED indicator turns green, it is fully charged.

     

    Turn on your phone, download and install XRSPACE App, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair with the device. Then you will have the best experience:

    • Open XRSPACE App.

    • "Sign in" or "Create account" at the bottom of the screen and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.

      • Create account: Enter your email account, password, nickname, username and date of birth on XRSPACE App. Next, go to your Inbox to find the verification email and click the link for the account verification. Then, sign in to your account.

      • Sign in: Enter your email address and password.

    • Select a country, and create your account profile.

    *Note: To install the XRSPACE App, you must meet the necessary requirements: 

    • iOS: For Apple iOS 13.0 or above, go to Apple Store to download and install it.

    • Android: For Android 7.0 or above, go to Google Play to download and install it.

  • Create Avatar

    Create your own avatar for your account and show your charming characters.

     

    Create your avatar through XRSPACE App on your phone: 

    • Select “Start” to create your avatar.

    • Select “Gender of avatar” and "Choose avatar generation" , then tap “Next”.

    • Use editing tools (default) or take a photo to generate a new avatar for you and customize it based on your preference.

    • Click "Upload" to finish setting up your avatar.2_US.png

  • Connect to Wi-Fi and Pair the Headset

    For more functions and features, your headset must be connected to Wi-Fi. Please select Wi-Fi during the setup process.

     

    Configure Wi-Fi settings through XRSPACE App on phone:  

    • Click "Pair new headset" on XRSPACE App.

    • Enter the six-digit number displayed on your device into XRSPACE App on phone.

    • Choose Wi-Fi you want, and enter the password.

    • Choose a "Language".

    *Note:

    • If you encounter any problem when using or configuring your device, make sure Wi-Fi signal is good. You can try to move to another location when the Wi-Fi signal is weak.

    • For developers, you won't have to enter 6 code to your app for paring, please check the developer documentation for more info.

     

    Configure Wi-Fi settings on XRSPACE MANOVA world

    • Turn on your headset and go to XRSPACE MANOVA world.

    • Select "Settings" in the Main Menu.

    • Select "Wi-Fi network" in the sidebar.

    • Choose Wi-Fi you want and enter the password. (*You can connect to a hotspot on your mobile device for the network connection.)

  • Pair the Controller

    You can navigate in XRSPACE MANOVA world with your hands or controller.

     

    Pair the controller with the headset: 

    • Open your XRSPACE App.

    • Click "Connect headset, controller, tracker" on setting page.

    • Press and hold the "Menu" button and "Action" button on the controller at the same time. You will see the LED indicator on the controller starting to flash until it  turns on and the screen on the phone shows paired.

    *Note: Before you begin, make sure your controller has been installed with the supplied batteries.

  • Activation

    Next steps, confirm the activation message on XRSPACE App:

    • Read the health and safety guide on XRSPACE App, and select "Confirm".

    • You will see the "Settings" and "Friends" pages once activated.

    Turn on or off

    • Long press "Power" button for 3 seconds: Turn on the device.

    • Long press "Power" button for 3 seconds until the menu appears to turn off. Or press “Power” button for 5~10 seconds for instead.

    Hibernation Mode

    Enter to hibernation mode:

    • While the headset off and the sensor do not detect. 

    • Press “Power” button to place your device in hibernation.

    Release from hibernation mode:

    • While the headset on and the sensor do detect. 

    • Press “Power” button to wake your device from hibernation.

     *Note: Should you find any issues, press "Power" button once to pause the headset. To resume, please press again after 1 second.

    Calibrate

    • Long press "Function" button for 3 seconds to calibrate your location in virtual world.

    Volume Control 

    •  Press to adjust volume.

    *Note:

    • When you use for the first time, remove the protective films on the tracking modules and lens of your headset. This makes your screen clear and improves the user experience.

    • It is not necessary to remove your glasses to watch videos when using your headset.

    *Thoughtful tips

    • When you use hand gestures, the optimal detection area is  70 degrees vertical and 120 degrees horizontal.

    • The recommended optimal distance from your hands to the device is between 30 cm and 80 cm.

    • You can get the best experience with easy and natural hand gestures. Just hold your index finger up naturally and avoid dropping your finger too much.

  • Main Menu

    Before you begin, turn on your headset and go to XRSPACE MANOVA world, find the "Main Menu" for more functions and features.

     

    The Main Menu is shown as below:

    • Friends: Add friends and check their online status.

    • Navigate: Go to scenes and check the number of people in each scene.

    • Apps: Get apps, games on XRSPACE MANOVA world.

    • Events: Add, join, or cancel an event.

    • Media: Find movies, videos, TV shows and more.

    • Gallery: View photos or videos on XRSPACE MANOVA world.

    • Browser: Browse the web using Browser on XRSPACE MANOVA world.

    • Settings: You can search for XRSPACE MANOVA world settings you want to change, such as your Wi-Fi, sounds, system version and more.

  • Quick Access

    If you would like to quick access commonly used settings and features, hold out your right hand with your palm facing you and then close your fist to get going quickly .

  • Explore the Map

    The world of XRSPACE MANOVA is composed of many public spaces and private spaces. 

    From the user’s exclusive virtual home, private cinema, to social places for meeting new friends, and even special spaces tailored for partners, all these spaces can be explored through the Map in the Main Menu.

    Click the "Map" button in the Main Menu to explore the world of XRSPACE MANOVA.

    Under the main category “Map” at the top of the screen, it contains various public space subcategories. Those spaces are open to all XRSPACE users, and you can enter freely without being invited.

    Click the information icon next to each subcategory name, you will see what spaces are available under this subcategory.

    Click the thumbnail to go to that space.

    You can switch between different subcategories of the public space list through the "Navigation" field on the left side of the screen.

    Click "My Spaces" at the top of the screen to see all available private spaces.

    Only you can enter these private spaces. If you want other users to get in, you need to invite them by creating events or by friend lists. Similarly, only when you are invited can you enter the private space of others.

    *Note: Currently, the dressing room is not allowed to invite others to enter.

    If you want to return to your home, please click the house icon in the upper right corner of the homepage of Map.

XRSPACE App and Personalization

  • Forgot your account or password?

    Forgot password

    To ensure your data security, you can re-configure it yourself.

    • First, open XRSPACE App on phone

    • Tap “Sign In” and select “Forgot password” to enter your registered email address.

    • Click “Send email” to reset your password.

    Try to recall your email account. If you still don’t remember, you will have to create a new one.

  • Wi-Fi network is not showing up?

    Here are some solutions to try if you don’t see your wireless network in the list on XRSPACE App:

    • Make sure your network is available and working properly on another device.

    • Try to move to another location when the Wi-Fi signal is weak.

    • Restart your wireless device, and try to search it again.

    • Restart XRSPACE App, and try to search it again.

    • Try to connect your headset to another wireless network.

    If you can’t see your wireless network on any device, the problem may be with the network itself, contact your internet service provider for the help.

  • How do I change my username and nickname?

    You can create your “Username” and “Nickname” in XRSPACE MANOVA world:

    • Username is your unique identifier through which your friends can find you.

    • Nickname is directly displayed in XRSPACE MANOVA world. Your nickname may be the same as that of other users. 

    *Note: To ensure the security of your data, you have to change your username and nickname yourself. 

     

    Name rules

    The following shows the “Username” rules:

    • The length of the username must be between 2 and 20 characters.

    • If necessary, the username can contain letters, numbers, a dash (-) or a underline (_) but it is not allowed to have two consecutive dashes or underlines.

    The following shows the “Nickname” rules:

    • The nickname you enter may contain a space or special symbol.

    *Note: If your nickname offends others or violate XRSPACE Ethic Guideline, it may be changed forcibly.

     

  • How do I change the profile picture for my Avatar?

    Open XRSPACE App or enter to XRSPACE MANOVA world to change the profile picture for your avatar:

    • Select “Restart”

    • Select “Start” to change the profile picture for your avatar.

    • Select “Gender of avatar” and "Choose avatar generation" , then tap “Next”.

    • Use editing tools (default) or take a photo to generate a new avatar for you and customize it based on your preference.

    • Open "Main Menu" and click "Settings".

    • Select "Map" and then click "My Spaces".

    • Go to "Dressing Room" to adjust your avatar.

  • How do I log into another account?

    If you want to log into another account, you have to reset the headset and re-pair.

    Please find the following steps:

    • Reset your headset to its factory settings simultaneously.

    • Open XRSPACE App on your phone, and tap "Sign in" to the account you want to use. If you don't see "Sign in", tap "Log out" on setting page.

    • Re-pair with the headset.

  • What should I do if I do not receive the verification email?

    Make sure the following is met:

    1. The email address you entered is correct.

    2. Do not use free email services (example: Yahoo Mail) because the verification email may be seen as spam, preventing you to receive it.

  • How to factory reset your Headset?

    Get ready to factory reset:

    1. Go to XRSPACE MANOVA world

    2. Open “Main Menu”, and select “Settings”

    3. Select “About ” in the sidebar, and click “Reset”.

      *Important: A factory reset erases all your data from your device.

     

  • How do I update the Headset to the newest system version?

    When new version is available for downloading, the system will automatically update it when you turn on your headset. 

    To ensure your system can automatically update it, make sure the following is met:

    • Make sure your headset is sufficiently charged, turned on, and connected to Wi-Fi.

    • Place your headset on a flat and stable location and do not move the device or block the internal sensor.

  • What do the colors of the status LED on the Headset mean?

    Your headset color state indication:

    • White: The device is turned on.

    • Green: The battery is charged.

    • Red blinking: The battery charge is low, please plug into a power charger.

    • Red: The battery is charging.

    • Blue: XRSPACE App is paired with the headset.

    • Yellow blinking: The headset is under FOTA process.

  • How to check the remaining storage on the Headset?

    If you cannot download app or transfer files to the headset, it may not have enough storage. 

    Check the remaining storage on the headset:

    • Turn on your headset and go to XRSPACE MANOVA world.

    • Select “Settings” in Main Menu.

    • Select “Storage” to check how much storage is available on your headset.

  • If my account is offline in XRSPACE MANOVA World.

    When your account is offline, the account status next to people icon appears offline. You may try the following methods:

    1. Click "People icon" next to your account, and tap "log in".

    2. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to make sure you’re connected to the internet.

  • My hand gestures cannot be detected.

    The headset is built with the tracking module which is used to track your hand gestures and surroundings.

    If your gestures cannot be detected, try to perform the following steps:

    • Check if the screen protector on the tracking module is removed.

    • Check if your gestures are performed within the tracking range of the headset. (The optimal detection area is  70 degrees vertical and 120 degrees horizontal.)

    • Press “Power” button to go to hibernation mode. And press it again to restart your headset.

    • To precisely track your gestures, always keep your tracking module clean.

  • How to add friends?

    1. Open XRSPACE App on phone.

    2. After logging into your account, tap the “Friends” icon at the bottom left corner.

    3. Tap “Add Friends” to search for your friend’s username or nickname.

    2. You can use the “Search” function at the top right corner to search for the friend's username or nickname. After adding, wait for your friends to accept the invite.

  • How to interact with friends?

    You can follow one of the following methods to interact with your friends:

    • Move closer and hold out hands to do the interaction such as "high five", "shake hands"...etc.

    • You can open "Interaction Panel" by pointing to your friend and tap on him/her. (*Move closer if the "Interaction Panel" is not showing up.)

  • How do I relocate my position?

    Try the steps below to relocate your position.

    • Press the “Function” button to relocate it.

    • Press “Power” button to go to Sleep mode. And press it again to restart your headset.

    • Press and hold the “Power" button for 3 seconds until the menu appears. And then press "Volume" button to select restart option and "Function" button to perform it.

  • How do I watch movies with my friends?

    Watch movies together with your friends online ! 

    Invite friends to watch movies:

    1. Open "Main Menu", select "Navigate" and go to "CHT Cinema". 

    2. Click "Friends", and invite them to watch movies.

    3. Send an invitation, and wait your friends to accept it.

    4. Point at the cinema screen, and choose the movie you want. 

    Join a movie and watch together:

    1. Open "Main Menu", select "Friends".

    2. Join a movie together with your friend.

  • How do I know my order is confirmed?

    After placing an order via our online store, you would receive an order email confirmation. You can check your order history on  XRSAPCE Online Store.

  • How to check the status of my order?

    Go to XRSAPCE Online Store, log into your account, find the order status under “Orders”.

  • How do I modify my order?

    If you need to make changes to your order details such as shipping address, please check your order status first, and go to XRSAPCE Online Store, click “Message” on the upper right hand corner to submit your request.

    Order status:

    • Open: Your order has been received but has not begun processing. Please send us a message.

    • Confirmed: Your items have shipped from XRSPACE’s warehouses.

    • Completed: Your items have been processed completely.

    • Cancelled: Your items have been cancelled, please try to place the order again.

    *Note: Modifications can only be made if your order status is open.

  • How to request a refund for XRSPACE Online Store purchases?
    • Authorized Distributors: Contact your original purchase store or E-shop for the help.

    • XRSPACE Online Store: Free return within 7 days* while you received the items. All return items must have original tags and packaging; and has not been installed, used, or modified (i.e. your item must have in the same condition that you received it). If you have received defective product, please contact us as soon as possible and provide a photo of the defect for verification. 
      *Note: Differ by areas.

    Kindly note that the refund policy is not applicable for XRSPACE MANOVA dev kit.

  • How long refunds take?

    Once XRSPACE checked the item is still in its original condition, the refunds from XRSPACE are returned to the payment method used to make the original purchase. Refunds take different amounts of time depending on how you paid. Processing time can be affected by the card issuer and sometimes takes up to 7~14 business days.

    *If it takes longer, contact your bank or carrier to check the status.

  • What do I do if I lost my invoice?

    Go to XRSAPCE Online Store, check your order history. You can either check the order confirmation email. Please submit your request if needed.

Warranty

  • How long is the warranty period?

    Hardware Warranty (12 Months Limited Warranty)

    The hardware product is warranted against defects in materials and malfunctions for a period of 12 Months from the date of original purchase ("Warranty Period"). You cannot sell or transfer a part or all of the limited warranty to anyone else.

    Important!! XRSPACE may restrict warranty service for products to the country or region where XRSPACE or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

  • How do I claim on my warranty If I’ve lost the receipt or invoice?

    The receipt is your proof of purchase and is required to make a claim on your warranty. If you don’t have a receipt or an invoice, and needs to make a claim, there are other ways to show proof of where you made the purchase. These include:

    • Serial number

    • Copy or photograph of the receipt

    • Purchased account

    Sometimes you may need to provide more than one of these things to support your claim to XRSPACE Support Center.
